Brazil: Three regular suppliers have upped their non-sanctioned granular urea offers to $395/t CFR and up to $402-405/t CFR for May shipment to fast southern ports, including Paranagua and Rio Grande.
Traders say offers of May shipments from the Middle East are limited on the back of ongoing commitments to India under its latest import tender, in which the 885,000t booked will be largely sourced from the supply region and add that current buyer price ideas do not reflect higher replacement costs.
Yet, a large buyer has bought a lot of 15-20,000t of Omani granular urea off an inbound vessel in the mid $370s/t CFR Vitoria.
Pockets of demand continue to be reported, with a buyer seeking to purchase 15,000t of granular urea for Paranagua. The large buyer, which had been in the market to book 10-15,000t of granular product for May shipment to Sao Francisco since last week, has yet to purchase the part-cargo. It was reported previously that it had bought the tonnes on price formula.
A vessel of 60,000t of Iranian granular urea is scheduled to load from Assaluyeh towards the end of April for Brazil.
At Paranagua warehouses, bidding for prompt lots is reported at $440-445/t FOT bulk versus offers at $450-460/t FOT bulk, which reflect $390-400/t CFR to $405-410/t CFR.
